There are moments in life when you think you have everything figured out.
You create the plan. You set the goals. You build the business. You imagine what the next five, ten, or even twenty years will look like.
And then life happens.
Sometimes, the plans we create for ourselves are interrupted by circumstances we never expected. Sometimes, we are forced to slow down, change direction, start over, or become someone we never imagined we would be.
But perhaps the greatest lesson I have learned throughout my wellness journey is this:
We may have plans for our lives, but God has a way of creating a path that is greater than anything we could have planned for ourselves.
Today, I am excited to share the next chapter of that journey.
Nyuki Hair Products is becoming Nyuki Wellness Services.
Over the next several months, you will begin to see the name Nyuki Hair Products and Nyuki Hair Studio transition across our platforms to Nyuki Wellness Services or simply Nyuki Wellness.
This is more than a name change.
It is the evolution of a journey that began with hair—and ultimately led me back to myself.
I Am Nyuki

When I first created Nyuki in 2017, I honestly felt like I needed an alter ego.
At the time, I was navigating so many health challenges and changes in my life. Creating Nyuki gave me a space to step outside of everything I was experiencing. It became a place where I could focus on beauty, creativity, hair, and helping others—even when I was still trying to understand what was happening within my own body.
Nyuki became the version of me who could keep going.
But over time, something changed.
I realized that Nyuki wasn't an alter ego at all.
Nyuki was the part of me that was helping me reclaim my identity.
Nyuki became the conduit through which I began to learn, heal, grow, and advocate for myself.
I began to understand that my hair, skin, nutrition, hormones, mental well-being, and overall health were not separate pieces of my life. They were all connected.
Nyuki became the bridge between the person I was, the woman I was becoming, and the healer I was learning to become for myself.
I am Nyuki.
And this is my wellness journey.
My Journey Started With My Skin

My wellness journey began in many ways with my own skin.
I experienced cystic acne and began exploring how the foods I ate, along with the products I used, affected my skin. I started paying closer attention to nutrition and became more intentional about what I put into my body and what I put onto my skin.
Through that experience, I began using my own Nyuki Products as part of my personal wellness routine.
What started as an effort to improve my skin became something much bigger.
I began to realize that I could not separate beauty from health.
I could not talk about healthy hair without talking about the body.
I could not talk about skin without talking about nutrition.
I could not talk about confidence without acknowledging the emotional impact that health challenges can have on how we see ourselves.
My own experiences were teaching me that wellness is not just about how we look.
Wellness is about how we live, how we feel, how we nourish ourselves, and how we care for the whole person.
Then came more chapters I never expected.
I was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. I experienced hair loss connected to vitamin D deficiency and chronic anemia. I experienced a high-risk pregnancy. Later, I found a benign lump in my breast.
Each experience reminded me that life can change in an instant.
We can have our lives all planned out, only to discover that God has other plans.
And sometimes, those unexpected moments become the very experiences that shape our purpose.
From Licensed Cosmetologist to Wellness Advocate

My professional journey has evolved alongside my personal one.
I began as a licensed cosmetologist, working in an industry that taught me the importance of beauty, confidence, and self-expression.
But my own health journey made me curious about the deeper connection between beauty and wellness.
I wanted to understand more.
I went back to college and began pursuing my education in health sciences and public health through an online program at National University. As my journey continued, I realized that my interests and purpose were expanding.
I eventually transitioned into the Food and Beverage Management program at St. Petersburg College, where I began exploring another piece of the wellness puzzle: food.
Food is more than something we eat.
Food is culture.
Food is community.
Food is education.
Food is access.
Food is an important part of the conversation about health.
My education and professional experiences continued to take me into spaces I never imagined when I first opened my doors as a cosmetologist.
I became a Dietary Aide, gaining firsthand experience in food service and caring for individuals in a long-term care environment.
As a Hair Loss Practitioner, I launched a trichology residency in a long-term care facility, providing scalp, hair, and wellness-focused services to residents, including individuals living on fixed incomes.
That experience taught me something profound:
Hair wellness is not just about hair.
It is about dignity.
It is about identity.
It is about confidence.
It is about being seen.
It is about caring for the whole person.
My journey then brought me to St. Petersburg College, where I worked in the Student Life and Leadership office as an event planner.
Looking back, I can see that none of these experiences were disconnected.
They were all preparing me for what comes next.
Welcome to Nyuki Wellness Services

Nyuki Wellness Services is the natural evolution of everything I have learned, experienced, and survived.
Our mission is to bridge trichology, nutrition, and public health through educational experiences that inspire prevention, wellness, confidence, and community empowerment.
Nyuki Wellness Services will continue to honor the foundation that was built through Nyuki Hair Products while expanding into a broader wellness space.
Our work will include exploring opportunities to curate spaces for healthcare and alternative medicine businesses, organizations, and individuals who share a love for wellness and believe in the power of holistic, preventative, and community-centered care.
Through Nyuki Wellness, I will also continue introducing the methods of healing and wellness practices that I have personally explored and employed throughout my own journey.
This includes conversations around:
- Hair and scalp wellness
- Trichology and hair loss education
- Nutrition and food as part of a wellness lifestyle
- Public health and prevention
- Wellness education
- Community health
- Alternative and complementary approaches to well-being
- Cooking and nutrition education
- Youth and family wellness
- Corporate and organizational wellness
- Wellness-focused events and experiences
This is not about pretending that there is one solution that works for everyone.
It is about creating space for education, exploration, advocacy, and informed choices.
It is about recognizing that sometimes the first step toward healing is simply becoming willing to learn more about yourself.
The Evolution of Nyuki

When I started Nyuki Hair Products in 2017, I could not have imagined where this journey would lead.
What began as a hair and beauty brand became a personal laboratory for my own wellness journey.
Then it became a business.
Then it became education.
Then it became trichology.
Then it became nutrition.
Then it became public health.
And now, it is becoming a platform for wellness, education, community, and connection.
Nyuki Wellness Services is not leaving hair behind.
Hair is where my story began.
Hair is still part of who I am.
But I now understand that hair is one part of a much bigger story.
The person experiencing hair loss may also be navigating nutritional deficiencies.
The person struggling with their skin may be thinking about their diet.
The person sitting in my chair may be dealing with stress, hormonal changes, or other challenges that no one else can see.
The person who needs a scalp treatment may also need someone to listen.
This is why I believe wellness must be approached with compassion, education, and a willingness to see the whole person.

You are becoming part of a journey that is still unfolding.
Cheers! The Journey Continues

I don't know exactly what the next chapter will look like.
And honestly, I am learning to be okay with that.
Because if my life has taught me anything, it is that we can make plans, but God may have something completely different—and sometimes even better—in store.
So, I am no longer trying to separate the different versions of myself.
The cosmetologist.
The hair loss practitioner.
The trichology practitioner.
The health sciences student.
The public health advocate.
The food and beverage professional.
The event planner.
The community advocate.
The wellness educator.
The woman who has navigated health challenges and continues to learn how to care for herself.
They are all me.
They are all part of my story.
And they are all part of Nyuki.
I am Nyuki.
And Nyuki Wellness Services is the story of what happens when you stop running from the parts of yourself that you thought you needed to escape—and begin embracing them as the very pieces that make you whole.
This is my wellness journey.
And I invite you to walk with me.
